Typing MyFritz.net uses the router's DNS to resolve to the router's IP address, whereas typing a numeric IP directly accesses the router without DNS resolution.
Type this, not a search
// address bar
Address bar
http://MyFritz.net
- Use the browser address bar. A search box will look up MyFritz.net on the public internet and miss the router.
- Type http://MyFritz.net with no www and no https. You must be joined to this router's Wi-Fi.
Do not search for MyFritz.net
Typing 'MyFritz.net' into a search engine will not take you to the router's login page. Always enter it directly into the browser's address bar.
Avoid using HTTPS
MyFritz.net does not support HTTPS. Use 'http://myfritz.net' or simply 'myfritz.net' in the address bar.
What is MyFritz.net?
// briefing
MyFritz.net is a local web address that gives you access to the admin panel of your router. This address only works when you are connected to the router's network — it does not resolve on the public internet.
Although MyFritz.net looks like a regular website, it is actually a local address that your router intercepts. Your router acts as a local DNS server and redirects this address to its built-in configuration page.
